Maths Week Scotland 2022 - Events for Schools

For Maths Week Scotland (26 September - 2 October 2022), we have a mix of online and in-person events and workshops for schools to book, as well as a variety of challenges and competitions running at various points in and around the week itself.

You can find all of our events listed in our online events calendar, but to help you with your planning we have pulled together an overview of daily highlights. We will be updating this, as new events come in, so please keep checking.

Please note that the majority of our free events still require pre-booking, so please don't delay if you are interested in any of these.

In the Run-up to Maths Week Scotland

Competitions

A few of our competitions kick off before 26 September.

  • Maths Inside photography competition, open to everyone in Scotland (1 September to 3 October - please note new extended deadline)
  • Scotland Rocks times tables competition for schools (7:30am - 7:30pm, daily from 19 September to 22 September)
  • Sumdog online maths contest for schools (from 8am on 23 September to 8pm on 29 September)
  • ICMS Pi-ku Competition (12 September to 30 September)

Info Sessions for Educators

  • Tuesday 13 September at 5pm: Introduction to Maths Circles for primary school educators, with the University of Edinburgh (online)
  • Thursday 15 September at 5pm: Introduction to Maths Circles for secondary school educators, with the University of Edinburgh (online)
  • Friday 23 September at 5pm: Celebrate Mathematics with the University of Edinburgh ( in Edinburgh) | for all teachers and educators
