    Our Maths Week Scotland daily challenges were back for 2022! Each morning during Maths Week Scotland, a new puzzle set by the Scottish Mathematical Council was shared on BBC Bitesize.

    Maths Inside

    Maths inside is returning for Maths Week Scotland 2023! Maths inside is a photo competition open to everyone in Scotland. The categories this year are: oot an’ aboot, the ‘why’ of shapes, and in motion. Can you see the maths inside?

    Maths is part of our daily life, have you ever thought about it? The home, exercise route, daily dog walks and the weekly shop turned into a playground… this is your chance to get creative and make mathematical connections!

    Submit your photos with the maths inside sticker on them to enter the competition. You can enter up to three photos, one per category. Entries will be accepted from Friday 1st September until 11:59pm on Monday 2nd October 2023, with an online prize ceremony at 11am on Saturday 4th November.

    Sumdog

    Celebrate maths and bring children together across Scotland with a fun online maths contest from Sumdog. Dates for the Maths Week Scotland 2023 Sumdog competition will be announced later this year.

    The contest is completely free to enter and is a fantastic way to motivate children and encourage teamwork as they battle it out against schools to become Maths Week Scotland champions.

    Help develop children’s number fluency as they answer quick-fire questions in game format. Personalised questions also help to build pupil confidence as they answer questions tailored to their individual level.
