STEM Exchange: An Introduction to Topology
We will be joined by DR. Irakli Patchkoria, researcher and lecturer from the Department of Mathematics of the University of Aberdeen, for a 20 minute talk on his research field of topology.
What is a knot, doughnut or Platonic solid? How is this maths and how does this solve any problems!? Join Irakli to find out!
Through interesting facts and examples, we will be given us an introduction to topology, where we will explore interesting geometric objects and learn how this research is useful in maths and to other areas of science.
