Maths in Motion: Pendulums and Patterns

Join us at Maths in Motion: Pendulums and Patterns to celebrate and explore the relationship between mathematics and movement, inspired by the patterns of motion - from the predictable to the chaotic!
This interactive exhibition brings together practical demonstrations, mathematical puzzles and art, with hands on activities for the whole family.
- Delve in to the Leonardome and build a structure from geometric patterns.
- Explore hands-on exhibits like the Harmonograph, the Double Pendulum and exciting Aerofoil Demonstration.
- Learn about aperiodic tiling and the ‘Einstein’ tile.
- Unleash your creativity with hands-on art activities inspired by ‘Curves of Pursuit’, a playful exploration of mathematical curves.
Location: National Museum of Scotland, Learning Centre, Level 2
Admission: FREE admission. No need to pre-book, just drop-in.
